These words tend to be misused in so many ways these days. However, these three little words can be very powerful! They make you feel belonged and loved.

The other day, Alex and I was chatting about these words. We have always made “I love you” the last thing we say before hanging up the phone. We say it to our children and I say it to my parents. Before we go to bed, we always say, “I love you”.

Over the last couple of years, we’ve lost so many close family members. I’ll never forget when Phil (Alex’s dad) was in the hospital, I took the kids to visit him. He had just gotten out of ICU and could not speak. He could nod his head whenever we asked him a question. Before we left, I looked down at him and said, “we love you, Phil!” He nodded with almost a smile on his face. That night he passed away. So glad we had that last time with him and was able to show him love.

Saying these three words is so important to us. You never know if this will be the last time you’ll see that person. I want my family to know and most importantly feel that I love them.
