My Happy Place!

My Happy Place!

Out of all the places Alex and I have traveled to, my most favorite place to visit time and time again is the Biltmore Estate. It really is “My Happy Place”. There’s just so much you can do on the estate such as soaking up history with a tour of the house, enjoying the gardens during every different season, going to a Summer Concert at sunset, eating at the many yummy restaurants they offer (from very formal to a casual setting), sampling and purchasing their delicious wine, shopping in their stores, or just having a picnic at the duck pond with the view of the house in the background.

Every other year we purchase a year long pass which gives us access to the house and events for the entire year. Great option if you know you’ll be going multiple times. If you go twice, being a pass holder will pay for itself and children under 16 can enter for FREE!

A few weeks ago, Alex and I decided to go up to the Estate and do something totally different. We are training for a 1/2 marathon and wanted to run on the grounds. It was so worth the drive up the mountain. What an experience! The weather was gorgeous, the summer wildflowers were blooming, and the sun was shining. I was in Heaven!

Being out of my normal environment and running at the Biltmore Estate was really amazing. Even Alex (who hates to run) enjoyed his run that morning. If you decide to head to Asheville for the day, you’ve got to check out “My Happy Place” and visit the Biltmore. You won’t regret it!
