This past Christmas, Alex and I decided to surprise our kids with a puppy. They had been asking for a small dog and my mom found Buddy (a beagle puppy). As soon as the kids realized that Buddy was theirs and that he was staying, they both burst into tears and they hugged, and hugged, and hugged him. It truly was a special memory.

This is how we are with our dogs. They both (Charlie and Buddy) are a huge part of our family. They are so loyal and wonderful companions. Just like our kids, they each have their own unique personalities.
