PORTRAIT ATTIRE & PET POLICY
Weddings, holidays, attending a formal ball, or going to a fine restaurant are the few times we tend to dress nicely. At each of these events, we want to present our best self as we celebrate with family and friends.
YOUR FAMILY PORTRAIT IS A CELEBRATION!
As a high-end studio, our background and lighting are tailored to render your portrait as a timeless work of art. This will be the most meaningful portrait you may likely have in your lifetime. You want to timelessly capture the joy and love of your family whether you decide to dress in simple, business casual or more formal.
Styles change and clothing can draw attention away from your face which is the most important aspect of your portrait. For the best results, we suggest you dress simply in solid tones and colors to ensure your portrait stands the test of time. We suggest solid, pastel tones when capturing young children in a portrait. When photographing families, we suggest dressing in coordinating, solid, earthtones for a timeless appearance.
Detailed recommendations for attire will be sent by email once your portrait session has been scheduled. We are also available by phone for guidance regarding attire.

Pet Policy
At Phil Hyman Portraits, we understand that dogs are a huge part of many families. We know our dogs are our babies too! If you would like to include your dog in your portrait session, please make sure to abide by our policy.
- We require all families that come to the studio to bring a friend or family member (who is not being photographed) to take care of your dog. Please do not leave your pet unattended in the car alone.
- Small pets that can be in a hand held crate must be placed in the crate at all times except during your session.
- Larger pets that do not fit into a hand held crate must remain outside of our studio at all times with a friend or family member except during your session.
- Any pet that seems to be unsafe by a member of our staff will not be allowed to enter.
- Pets are not allowed on any furniture unless directed by our studio.
We love to include pets during our portrait sessions. These policies are here to keep our staff members, other clients/children, and your pets safe during your entire portrait experience.
