This past spring we had a mom come in for a planning appointment. She is a long-time client of ours and she wanted to capture her son at the age of 5 years old. She had a particular “look” that she was hoping we could achieve but wanted to chat about it face to face.

She wanted a watercolor painting of a close-up of her son’s face. I absolutely loved her plans. I tweaked it just a little bit because I knew what the outcome would be and wanted to create a piece she would fall in love with. We scheduled the appointment and her son was just a doll during the entire session.

She came in for the proofing appointment and selected the perfect image for her painting and that’s when the “magic” began. It took 3-4 months to complete and I couldn’t wait to call her as soon as it was completed. We had it sitting on our easel as she came in the door and she was in love! She couldn’t wait for her husband to hang it on her wall.

She called back a couple hours after picking up her painting and said, “Becky, I just wanted you and Alex to know that I am in love with my painting. It is absolutely beautiful! I keep walking past it and can’t stop looking at it!”
