Children's Portrait Sessions

Most kids are morning people. A common question is, "What is the best time of day to have my children photographed?" The answer 99.9 percent of the time is, "In the morning." Most children begin the day with fresh excitement and natural curiosity. In fine children's portraiture and family portraits including young children, we seek to entertain, excite and amuse in our effort to get the happiest, most relaxed expressions that are our trademark. Creating such images is easier when everyone is fresh rather than when your children (or you as parents) are wearing down after a long day. When your kids come in fresh and have some real fun, the resulting portraits are more natural and beautiful.

Our philosophy: We specialize in portraying the individual child. Specializing in the individual allows us to create unique classical portraits that catch the sparkle in a child's personality. This goal is only achieved when working with a single child on a one-on-one basis. Relating to a child as an individual means that "having a portrait made" is no longer the issue - having fun is the issue, and the memory of the session will be a pleasant one. Most children beg not to leave because we are having such a good time.

Because we want to focus on and relate to the individual child, we suggest that individual portrait and group portrait sessions not be held on the same day. Our experience has taught us that capturing the essence and sparkle of a child (or teenager) will only be possible when we work with each individually. Children in particular become stimulated when photographed in a group, especially when they are of different ages. Something that comforts a child of one age will not be the same thing that comforts a child younger or older. Therefore, if a group portrait is desired, we will schedule it for you on another day. It is worth the effort to make your children more comfortable and to achieve the very best results in all your portraits.
